CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE ENERGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD”: WEBINAR BY OMC-MED ENERGY CONFERENCE

“CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE ENERGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD”:
WEBINAR PROMOTED BY OMC-MED ENERGY CONFERENCE
TOGETHER WITH THE POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTES OF MILAN AND TURIN
AND THE RAVENNA CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA

OMC-Med Energy Conference is promoting a debate in the Italian university community on energy transition issues.
The webinar entitled Clean and Affordable Energy for a Sustainable World, scheduled for 17 June 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., will permit Prof. Francesca Verga of the Politecnico di Torino, Prof. Stefano Campanari of the Politecnico di Milano and Prof. Andrea Contin of the University of Bologna - Ravenna Campus to discuss these issues.

Monica Spada (Chair of the OMC-Med Energy Conference) and Edoardo Dellarole (Chair of the OMC Programme Committee) will coordinate the speakers and encourage debate.

It will be an opportunity to discuss the long-term outlook and the energy roadmap to 2050, which is necessary to ensure the transition towards future decarbonisation and growth objectives. This debate, aimed at university students and young people, will be a way to involve younger generations in the discussion on possible long-term solutions and the climate awareness underlying our new development model.

This event will officially launch the second initiative of the Innovation Room at OMC 2021 in Ravenna, the 2030 Hackathon, a competition open to students and researchers between 20 and 30 years old who will compete on ideas and solutions to achieve the 2030 SDGs.
This initiative is dedicated to young people and is organised in alliance with SPE Italian Section and with the support of Accenture.

SPE's president, Paolo Carnevale, will present the Energy Hackthon initiative during the webinar on 17 June. Accenture will be represented by Fausto Torri, Managing Director Energy Industry.

“I would like to thank the two Polytechnic Universities and the Ravenna Campus of the University of Bologna for their willingness to participate, which is in keeping with their long-standing commitment to energy transition and the dissemination of knowledge. The 2021 edition of the OMC-Med Energy Conference aspires to be the meeting point for the broad debate on carbon-free goals. With a special focus on young people, to whom we are also dedicating the Innovation Room and a Call for Ideas, which will involve universities, research institutes, companies, and investors in order to harness the potential of new ideas to be transformed into projects for industry that will address the need to produce sustainable energy” said Monica Spada, President of OMC-Med Energy Conference 2021.
